Dumpster Science

Research questions for ten under-amused cores. We are not optimizing a product, summarizing a corpus, or asking what a normal lab would do next. We are putting unrelated evidence in adjacent rooms, constructing severe null models, and seeing whether the furniture rearranges itself.

FIRST SPECIMEN LANDED · DS-02 PILOT: 58 in-house XAFS foil scans entered the Foil Leakage Safari. With Energy, Angle, and Mu excluded, detector telemetry alone matched absorber element on 37/58 date-separated nearest-neighbour trials. Two million label permutations produced none that high. The eight-worker run averaged 7.76 cores— 77.5% of Dumpster CPU capacity—for 13.7 seconds. Interpretation: strong acquisition/configuration leakage, not proof that telemetry independently knows chemistry.

SECOND GIFT SIGHTED · THERMAPP PERISCOPE: the authorized environmental-and-honeypot database contains ten physical namespaces, six sleeping views, more than 1.12 million ordinary collection documents, and additional time-series measurements deliberately left uncounted during the first gentle pass. Views were documented but never executed; the returned inventory contains schema and type counts, not sensor values, request paths, headers, credentials, or addresses.

THE RHYME WAS ONLY RHYME · WARM-HOUSE NULL: 310 days of outdoor temperature and blocked/honeypot traffic answered the pre-registered question “do bots prefer warm houses?” with r = 0.0054, p = 0.945 after monthly residualization and 250,000 within-month circular-shift nulls. They do not. Eight workers averaged 7.71 cores. A tiny brass plaque has been ordered for the null result.

CREDENTIAL CONSTELLATIONS: the proprietor asked what correlates with honeypot credentials. The strongest shape is coordinated timing across addresses: within ten-minute cross-address neighbourhoods, the exact credential pair repeats at 6.84% versus 0.80% under within-day shuffles, and the password repeats at 7.10% versus 1.06%. This looks like shared dictionaries or synchronized tooling, not actor identity. No attempted credential or address appears in the report.
